Kunjal's 6th Month

Kunjal is now in her seventh month. We are still at home in India .we have a custom of introducing rice to the baby at seventh month . kunjals's rice ceremony or "annaprasan "as it is called ,was on 10th of february.

Annaprashan: Since she was the first grandchild in both the families so the ceremony was real grand .100's of people were invited to the function which included our relatives friends and neighbours.
Kunjal wore the traditional korean dress "hanbok" which we got for her for this day from korea. The ceremony started in the morning and we went to the temple with her to take blessings. It was quite hot and sunny day, Kunjal was with her aunt and was holding the umbrella all the way and kept it holding till we reached the temple

I will hold the umbrella myself!!!!!

It was a funny sight. she was finding it quite interesting that she was the star of the events. All of our relatives saw her for the first time so everybody wanted to take her and hug .

The rice in the form of sweet porridge is generally prepared by the temple priest and has to be fed to the baby by her maternal uncle. For kunjal my cousin and then my sister gave her rice for the first time.

Tasted Food for first time: All waited to see the response , she liked the taste of the porridge and was demanding more. my sister gave her some spicy fish stew and hmm it was yummy for her. Now she wanted to hold the bowl and have on her own. All were laughing to see her doing this.

We were thinking she might cry a lot by seeing so many people and getting so much stimulation at a time but for Kunjal seemed more than happy to greet so many people and tasting new food .Of course the dress was not a problem. we all got tired but she was still active and happy at the end of the day. From now on we can give her rice and other food but yes with less spice and salt.

Back to Korea:
Days passed off so fast and it was almost time to return back to Korea. On 18th we started our return journey. Our parents came to see us off at the airport with a heavy heart this time. They are going to miss kunjal a lot. We reached kolkata airport in the noon and we had a flight for singapore same night. Kunjal was already missing her grandparents she wanted to be carried and taken around and was crying inside the transit room.

Return flight Journey:
This time she didnt cry much in the kolkata-Singapore flight and slept well all the time. We boarded the Singapore-Seoul flight same day. This flight had too many kids and we couldnot get the bassinet but the flight attendant was kind enough to get the third seat emptied and we put her to sleep there .

see I also got a seat
She had food and slept peacefully till the landing. As we left the airport to get the limousine we could feel the cold chilling wind. it was still very very cold in korea
We were back after a long refreshing vaccation.
